While contact lenses are safely used by millions of people every day, they do carry a risk of eye infection. The most common infection related to contact lens use is keratitis, an infection of the cornea (the clear, round dome covering the eye's iris and pupil). Keratitis can have multiple causes, including herpes, bacteria,fungus and microbes (such as acanthamoeba—a very difficult infection to treat). Keratitis is the most serious complication of contact lens wear. In severe cases, it can lead to corneal scarring that impairs vision, and may lead to the need for a cornea transplant.
Symptoms of contact lens-related infections may include blurry vision, unusual redness of the eye, pain in the eye, tearing or discharge from the eye, increased light sensitivity or the sensation of something in your eye. It is important to remember that some contact lens-related eye infections can cause serious vision loss or even blindness, so it is important to see your Eye M.D. as soon as possible for treatment.Factors that contribute to a contact lens-related infection include:
Use of extended-wear lenses
Sleeping in your contact lenses
Reduced tear exchange under the lens
Environmental factors
Poor hygiene, including poor maintenance of contact lens cases or reusing or topping off contact lens solution
Safe handling, storage and cleaning of your lenses are key steps to reduce your risk of a keratitis infection. Learn how to safely take care of your contact lenses.
Penyakit yang aku hidapi sekarang penyakit yang bernama "Bacterial Keratitis" iaitu :-
Keratitis Eye Infection
Superficial keratitis involves the uppermost layers of the cornea. When this form of keratitis has healed, there is usually no scar on the cornea.Deep keratitis affects deeper corneal layers. There can be a scar left after healing which may or may not affect your vision, depending on where the scar is located.In addition to bacterial keratitis, there are a number of other types of keratitis eye infection, some of which include:
Amoebic keratitis (usually affecting contact lens wearers, it is often caused by Acanthamoeba);
Fungal keratitis (infection with fungi);
Viral keratitis (caused by herpes simplex and herpes zoster viruses);
Photokeratitis (due to intense ultraviolet radiation exposure, e.g. snow blindness or welder's arc eye).
Dah macam biology dah. hahaha ! Tipu lah kalau aku tak takut. Tapi seriously babe, memang ade "keratitis" dekat cornea aku. Nampak sesangat kalau suluh dengan torchlight. Nampak macam ade selaput putih dekat atas cornea aku. Susah nak ambik gambar mata aku. Camera mana yang takde flash ? Tak sanggup aku ! Bila aku pejam mata aku ketat-ketat kan, pening sesangat. Memang aku sakit mata, tapi, takde gatal or sakit or bengkak. Nampak merah-merah je. Hopefully, esok sembuh lah mata aku neh. Uhuu~ Kalau aku tak keje, takpe lah nak sakit, nak merah ke hape. Ni tak, masa aku dah keje ni lah macam-macam penyakit datang.
Tapi lagiiiiiii. Last year, hujung taun camni lah mata aku sakit camni. Same je. Musim ke ? Tak mungkin penyakit ade musim.. Ke, memang ade tapi aku ni yang bawah tempurung. Halamak ! Lantak kau lah ! Let's just hope, mata aku sembuh sikit besok. Sikit pun jadi lahhhhhh. Bye !
